The Louisiana Airport Authority proposes to develop an international intermodal facility to capitalize on the enormous growth in international manufacturing and shipping. By developing such a facility in

, the abundant resources available here in our state and our geographical location along the
Gulf
Coast
offer many advantages not available elsewhere. The project as currently proposed is a multibillion dollar program to be founded primarily by private investors.
Phase I of the project consisted of site evaluations and recommendations as well as cost evaluation and projections.
